About Us

The mission of Saint Laurence Chapel is to proclaim God's love for people who are hungry and homeless by providing help and hope in a non-judgmental environment. We fulfill our mission by collaborating, developing partnerships and working with community organizations and churches across non-denominational lines in Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties.

Through these churches and organizations we empower people who are homeless and hungry to become self-sufficient and help them to fulfill their basic needs by using a holistic approach.



Saint Laurence Chapel provides an array of multifaceted services for clients who are homeless and hungry.

Direct Client Services are provided Monday – Friday and on holidays.  Every Sunday there is a chapel service and hot lunch from 12 to 2pm.  Following is a description of the services offered by St. Laurence Chapel:


Transportation

Free van transportation is provided to and from St. Laurence Chapel each day so that the homeless are able to access services.

Saint Laurence Chapel provides hot breakfast  and lunch.

Saint Laurence Chapel provides clients with clean clothing daily.

Basic & Emergency Needs

Breakfast, lunch,showers,clothing,mailing address,telephone to make and receive calls, temporary personal storage,hygiene kits,emergency food,bus passes,chapel services (attendance is voluntary).

Saint Laurence Chapel has a Licensed Practical  Nurse on site. Ms. Julie assists clients with medical needs and referrals.

Nursing Care

Medical assessments, vital signs are checked, first aid, medication storage, health and nutrition, education, linkage with primary and emergency health care, appointment tracking, bus passes for medical appointments.

Case Management is provided daily by our Case Manager Mr. Carlos.

Case Management

Comprehensive assessments, service planning, individual counseling, appointment tracking, budgeting assistance, referrals for housing, specialized supportive services, replacement of client identification cards and family reunification.


SLC Partners with Holy Cross Hospital

Holy Cross Hospital Outreach team provides confidential on site HIV testing and screening daily.
