Victoria came to St. Laurence Chapel with a friend who had been helped by the Chapel before. The SLC Case Manager found her a place to live in a "sober house." Julie, the nurse, got her eyeglasses which she really needed for both reading and distance. The clothing room provided her with suitable clothing for a job interview. Victoria stated,"I took the SLC van to come to St. Laurence for breakfast and lunch, and to get a safe place for respite during the day."
She also said, "After a year of being homeless on the street, St. Laurence Chapel Day Shelter has really helped me. A place to get clean clothes and get a shower is a blessing. Especially being a woman, you have to be awake at night on the street in order to protect yourself. SLC is a safe place to be during the day."
