It was a great day at the St. Laurence Chapel Homeless Day Shelter on June 10th.
First was a beautiful service from Deacon Lorna Goodison with prayer and music. SLC is a warm and caring place where everyone is welcome and has some time for prayer and reflection.
Following the service was a beautiful Meal prepared by parishioners from St. Mary Magdalene’s Episcopal Church. The meal featured Barbecued chicken with all the fixin’s.
To add to the day was a music performance from the youth choir and band of the First United Methodist Church all the way from Lakeland Florida. Under the the leadership of Chaplain Lee Lallance, the group performed for almost an hour and was warmly received. Folks did not even want to get up for seconds until the performance was over.
The Board of Directors wishes to thank all who participated and help bring a great day to those less fortunate.
