The Board members of Saint Laurence Chapel express their sincere condolence to the family and friends of Marilyn Kreider. Marilyn was single mindedly devoted to God’s call to care for the hungry and the homeless. She served for many years as the day shelter’s social worker working tirelessly to provide placement as well as social and emotional support for all in need.
After retirement, her zeal for helping the hungry and the homeless never faded. Instead, she became a lifetime board member and helped to ensure the continuity of Saint Laurence Chapel ‘s mission of providing help and hope to the homeless in an atmosphere that affirms their personal dignity and self worth.
In addition to her remarkable contribution to the Day Shelter, Marilyn was also an active member of her Church, First Presbyterian of Pompano Beach (The Pink Church) and a long time resident of the John Knox Village.
Marilyn will be sadly missed by all at the Chapel but she has left a profound example of caring and loving to those in need.
May her soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
Marilyn’s funeral service will be Saturday, November 22, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2331 N. E. 26th Ave, Pompano Beach at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers requests are made for donations to St. Laurence.
